# Add custom fields for projects and supporting objects

Every object in the system has a custom set of defined fields that are installed with Arrow. To add additional information to your project, or any [supporting object](https://arrowpsa.com/docs/supporting-objects/), new fields can be created leveraging Salesforce's ability to add custom fields. The system can be further extended by leveraging Salesforce page layouts, page layout assignments and record types.

#### ADD NEW **FIELDS**

1. From the Setup menu navigate to **Object Manager > [Object to add fields]**.
2. On the Object's details page click **Field & Relationships**.
3. Click the **New** button.
4. Follow the Salesforce prompts to add a new field to the object.
5. Update the appropriate page layouts where the fields should be displayed to your users.

**LIMITATION**
Salesforce limits the ability to change custom field definitions that are a part of an upgradeable package. As such, the field names, API names and other field attributes are not editable in the Arrow PSA package. If you require a field to be renamed as part of your implementation you may add a new custom field to any Arrow PSA object.
